Web Programming

Many web pages are static, and don't change unless you download them, edit them, and put them back on your web site. However, dynamic web pages can change the information they display according to visitor preferences or the contents of a database. And the database can store articles, events, directories, and all manner of information, entered and administered through other dynamic web pages, ultimately controlled by you.

Static web pages are written in the language HTML. Dynamic web pages use an intermediary language (like PHP or ASP) to read from a database (such as MySQL or SQL Server) and send ever changing HTML to your browser. A web programmer or web developer is the computer professional who makes this happen.
